Може ли някой, който се е лекувал със сумамед да сподели как е преминало лечението при него - за колко време?

1. What is the treatment for chlamydia?

от http://www.ashastd.org/stdfaqs/chlamydia.html

There are antibiotic treatments that are effective in treating chlamydia. Which antibiotic is prescribed is decided by a health care provider, who will take into consideration the particular needs of the patient.

Whaterver treatment is prescribled, there are some important points about any treatment:
The patient must take all medications as directed.
All partners should be examined and treated.
The infected person should not have sex until he or she and any partner or partners have been treated and cured.
Persons who show symptoms after treatment should be tested again by culture.
Infections detected after treatment with one of the recommended treatments more commonly occur because of reinfection rather than treatment failure.
Women should be retested three to four months after treatment because of a high rate of reinfection.
Because the symptoms of chlamydia are similar to the symptom of gonorrhea, and because a person can be infected with both, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that people with chlamydia be treated for both diseases. Partners should be examined and treated as well.

What can I do to reduce my risk of getting chlamydia?
As with other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) there are things people can do to reduce or eliminate the risk of chlamydia. Therse include the following:

Abstinence (not having sex) is a sure way to avoid infection.
Mutual monogamy (having sex with only one uninfected partner) is another way to avoid infection.
Using latex condoms for vaginal and anal sex reduces risk.
Water-based spermicides are not recommended for the prevention of chlamydia. Recent studies have shown that nonoxynol-9 (N-9), which is found in most water-based spermicides, is not effective in preventing chlamydia.
Since chlamydia can be transmitted even if the penis or tongue does not completely enter the vagina, mouth or rectum, using latex condoms at the beginning of sexual contact until there is no longer skin contact is the best form of prevention.
Several barrier methods can be used to reduce the risk of transmission of chlamydia during oral sex. A non-lubricated condom can be used for mouth-to-penis contact. Household plastic wrap, a dental dam, or a latex condom cut-up and opened flat can reduce the risk of transmission during mouth-to-vulva/vagina or oral-anal (rimming) contact.

TREATMENT
Chlamydia is usually treated with an antibiotic such as azithromycin (Zithromax) or doxycycline. Gonorrhea is treated with an injection of ceftriaxone or a drug from the category referred to as fluoroquinolones (Cipro, Floxin).

You and your sexual partner(s) must be treated and must complete the prescribed medication. Any sexual partners in the preceding 60 days should be evaluated, tested, and treated. The most recent sexual partner should be evaluated and treated even if the last sexual contact was more than 60 days before the diagnosis. You must abstain from all sexual contact for seven days after single-dose therapy or until completion of a seven-day treatment. You must also abstain from all sexual contact until your current sex partner(s) are treated or you will be re-exposed and will need to be retreated. If symptoms do not clear or re-occur after treatment is completed it is important to return to your health care provider for further evaluation.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PARTNERS
If your partner has been found to have chlamydia and/or gonorrhea, recognize that the infection can be present for years without symptoms. It is important that you seek medical attention to be evaluated and treated. It is important to finish all of the medication even if your chlamydia test is negative. Refrain from all sexual contact until you both have been examined and have completed treatment. The use of condoms is recommended to prevent re-infection.

IF YOU ARE A FEMALE
For an accurate examination, please do not use any vaginal medications, tampons or have sexual intercourse for at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.

IF YOU ARE A MALE
For an accurate exam, please report to the appointment without urinating for at least four hours.

3. За лечението с антибиотици

Take all of the prescribed medicine, even if your symptoms go away before you have completed treatment.
If the symptoms do not go away within a week after finishing treatment, go to your doctor or clinic again.
It is very important to tell your sex partners that you have chlamydia so that they can be tested and treated.
Get re-tested for chlamydia 3 - 4 months after treatment.

People should not have sex for 7 days after treatment is completed. Recent sex partners must also be treated. A couple must not have sex until both have completed treatment; otherwise they may reinfect one another.
